List of violent incidents in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, 2014

This is a list of individual incidents and statistical breakdowns of incidents of violence between Israel and Palestinians in 2014 as part of the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict, but exclusive of particular events that fall within the parameters of the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict. Given that many incidents take place in the Palestinian territories, it includes all behavior that might be considered a violation of the protocols regarding the obligations of both sides in international law as formulated by the Geneva Conventions, and specifically in the Fourth Geneva Convention.〔'There are serious concerns regarding the lack of, or insufficient efforts by Israeli authorities to investigate and ensure accountability for alleged violations of international humanitarian and human rights law by Israeli forces during military and law enforcement operations, and for Israeli settlers acts of violence against Palestinian civilians and their property. The failure to effectively investigate and prosecute violent acts results in a culture of impunity.' ("Life, Liberty and Security" ), ochaopt.org; retrieved 24 November 2014.〕〔Human Rights Council, United Nations, (''Report of the Human Rights Council: Second Session (18 September-6 October, and 27-29 November 2006) ) United Nations Publications, 2007 pp. 85-86.
==Overview==

2,314 Palestinians were killed and 17,125 injured by Israeli operations in 2014, a rise from 39 deaths and 3,964 injuries caused in the previous year, according to UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Over the same period 87 Israelis were killed, and 2,629 injured. The majority of casualties occurred during the Gaza War, but 58 Palestinians were killed and 6,028 injured in the West Bank, the highest figure since 2007. Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians,mostly settlers, and security forces resulted in 12 fatalities, compared to 4 the previous year.〔Mairav Zonszein, (killed more Palestinians in 2014 than in any other year since 1967,' ) The Guardian 27 march 2015.〕〔('Fragmented lives:Humanitarian Overview,2014,' ) OCHA, March 2015 pp.〕
In 2014, the Israeli military administration in the West Bank demolished 493 structures and homes of 969 Palestinians; 97 buildings in East Jerusalem; the homes of 208 Palestinians in East Jerusalem; and an average of 9 Palestinian buildings per week.〔Amira Hass,('UN: Israel demolished homes of 1,177 Palestinians in Jerusalem and West Bank in 2014,' ) Haaretz 2 February 2015.〕
According to Walla!, in 2014 823 attacks〔about 30% from all 995 attacks throughout 2014 and through April 2015, were perpetrated during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza〕 against the Jerusalem Border Police and SWAT teams were recorded. 666 Molotov cocktails and 127 explosive devices have been thrown at Border Police, 16 shooting incidents, 3 stabbing attempts or attacks and 11 "car rampage"attacks (attempted or actualized) have been launched. Hundreds of police have been injured in these clashes, and one policeman - Jedan Assad - died in a car rampage.. According to the United States Human Rights Report for the year, the most significant human rights abuses across the occupied territories by multiple actors consisted of excessive use of force against civilians, including killings; arbitrary arrest and associated torture and abuse, often with impunity.' The Report states also that Palestinian detainees suffered abuses, particularly during arrest and interrogation, properties were confiscated or demolished, and limitations were placed on freedom of expression, assembly, and association. In addition, severe restrictions were imposed on Palestinians’ internal and external freedom of movement.〔Tamar Pileggi, http://www.timesofisrael.com/us-knocks-israels-treatment-of-palestinian-prisoners/ 'US slams Israel’s treatment of Palestinian prisoners,' The Times of Israel 27 June , 2015,〕〔( ''Country Reports on the Human Rights Practices for 2014: Israel and the Occupied Territories,'' )United States Department of State June 2015:'The most significant human rights abuses across the occupied territories were excessive use of force against civilians, including killings; arbitrary arrest and associated torture and abuse, often with impunity, by multiple actors in the region; and restrictions on civil liberties, particularly in Gaza, where residents remained unable to hold their government accountable for such abuses.' 'Human rights problems related to actions by Israeli authorities inside the West Bank and Gaza included reports of excessive use of force against civilians, including killings; abuse of Palestinian detainees, particularly during arrest and interrogation; austere and overcrowded detention facilities; improper use of security detention procedures; demolition and confiscation of Palestinian property; limitations on freedom of expression, assembly, and association; and severe restrictions on Palestinians’ internal and external freedom of movement. Violence by settlers against the Palestinian population continued to be a problem, as did inconsistent punishment of these acts by Israeli authorities. The IDF maintained restrictions on movement into and out of the Gaza Strip and largely limited the travel of Palestinians out of Gaza to humanitarian cases and some business travelers.'〕
